Confessional Friday: {Link-Up}

Happy Friday, ladies! This is going to be short and sweet because I'm hoping to get out and run errands before the ugly temps and humidity come out to play.

1) I confess that I bought all the stuff to make Jello Jigglers yesterday. Just for Caroline, of course ; )

2) I confess that I'm A-okay with the fireworks coming to an end. (Our county apparently allows it until July 11?) Our poor German Shepherd lives outside and every night he has a literal panic attack until we can let him into the garage. I get it; fireworks are pretty and fun. But golly, it's driving these neighborhood dogs bananas.

3) I confess that I said I'd never be that parent that bought every backyard toy and contraption for her kiddos, simply on the principle that it would clutter our yard. Stephen and I are both eating our words, one swing set and an inflatable Nemo pool later.

Okay girls, I'm off to Ulta with mom to get some new hair product for a post I'm writing. Trust me, you're going to love this stuff as much as I do!

  1. We had a dog that freaked over fireworks! Can't wait for the hair post.

  2. Sure there is good reason for this, but why does he live outside? Does Ruby live inside?

    1. Totally fair question!! He has bad anxiety and SO much energy when he's confined in the house, so our solution was to put a doggy door leading into our air conditioned garage where his bed is. He sleeps in there most nights and even sometimes during the day when it's super hot.

  3. Oh yes, more hair products please! I need a trip to Ulta. Will you tell us about your day-to-day life these days? I know you were working part-time but I know you're still adjusting to post-hospital life back home. Hope you're recovering well and feeling healthier every day.

    1. I actually have a post in the works right now on that very topic! My goal is to hopefully show other women, especially those that may also be dealing with similar issues, what our current situation is. From the nearly 20 meds I'm on, to the IV central line in my chest and what our next steps are on the road to getting my heart fully functioning again. : )

    2. Great! I look forward to it. I know that you prefer to keep your medical concerns private (totally valid!) but I'm curious about how you or other mommas with health issues have made it work. I'm not a mom yet but I know that pregnancy is a risk factor that may adversely affect my condition. My husband and I are thinking about trying to start a family in the next year so it is very much on my mind. :)

He's such a great dog and the addition of the dog run and door were definitely worth it to keep him calm and comfortable : )

  5. I've been MIA for a couple of weeks but have been dying to drop by and say hi and tell you how happy I am that you're back and healthy and happy! Fridays just haven't been the same without you, love! I feel you on eating your words. I now drive a car filled to the brim with baby dolls, bathe in a bathtub filled with toys, and cut the crusts of my kid's sandwiches. What have we become? :)

  6. I live in an apartment building & people continued to shoot fireworks off DAYS after the 4th. I'm only 24 but I felt like an angry old lady, wanting to call the cops & complain. So inconsiderate! haha I just happened upon your blog & I love it. I'll be back again! :)
