Girl Fight

We're taking a sec today to talk about something a bit deeper than fashion or decor; something that is without a doubt one of the most important causes to women around the world. As many of you know, October is national Breast Cancer Awareness month, and here at A Blonde Ambition, we're pitching in to raise awareness.

Although I would highly recommend participating in events like Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure, (go here to find a race in your area), there are other ways to help lead the fight against breast cancer. Designers and make-up mavens like Betsey Johnson and Bobbi Brown are getting involved and I must say, never has there been a more fashionable time to put up a fight. Portions of proceeds from these and many other items will be donated to the Susan G. Komen foundation.

1) Breast Cancer Fight Like a Girl T-shirt; 2) Elizabeth Hurley Lip Design Collection; 3) Pink Ribbon Shimmer Brick, 4) Breast Cancer Awareness Toggle Bracelet

Ok, so the coolest thing...I saw some football game highlights the other morning while I was getting ready for work and noticed that the players were all wearing pink shoes and gloves and that the field was painted with the pink ribbon emblem. I think they've actually done this in past years too, but it was still neat to see big, tough linebackers sporting hot pink cleats, haha. It was also super cool to see the cheerleaders wear cute, pink outfits in support of the ladies. Thanks NFL boys and girls!

You can get your own girly NFL gear (like the adorable shirt and hat above) here, and help support the cause at the same time.

For more information about the fight against breast cancer, visit Susan G. Komen for the Cure. I'd encourage all of you to participate in a race or walk, but even if you can't, try wearing a pink ribbon this month for a fellow sister in the fight.

Be blessed, lovelies-

It's 2010 and although medical science has made incredible discoveries about this disease and how to treat it, it's a shame it still even exists. I know I echo the thoughts of others when I say I hope that our future generations of women never have to know breast cancer.
