Wednesday Randoms

Hello, hello! It seems we've reached the middle of the week, which can only mean one thing...only two days 'til Friday - hooray and hoorah for that.

Grab some coffee, sit back and enjoy a few random thoughts this morning ; )

1. If you're in the market for a cute pair of over-the-knee boots that won't break the bank, might I suggest the Ivanka Trump Sarena boot? I found them for $111 online, (regular $170), the best deal I've seen on these all winter. I used some of my Christmas moolah on these and I'm pretty pumped to bust them out for a date night, soon.  Anywhoodle, I thought I'd share the deal I found, in case you want them, too.

2. Confessional Friday WILL RETURN this Friday, January 9th! Be here ready to link up and spill your innermost thoughts.

3. I posted this photo on Insta yesterday and got several questions about the lip color I was wearing. It's my all-time favorite: Estee Lauder gloss in Pink Innocence. Get it - you won't regret it.

(Don't worry, Mom. We were parked in the Starbies lot, not actually driving down the road.)

4. Has anyone tried the Miracle Blanket for their baby? I'm considering getting one for Ainsley because baby girl loves to be swaddled tightly. I've heard that these are complete game-changers. Honest momma reviews would be much appreciated!

5. We got a sneak peek of Ainsley's newborn photos that our friend/photog Bethany McGhehey captured on New Year's Day. I know she's mine and I'm obviously biased, but I think she's a beauty. So excited to see the rest of the pics Bethany took!

5. What is it about taking Christmas decorations down that makes you want to re-decorate your entire house? (Or in our case, decorate, ha!) Deep thoughts...

..................................

Y'all have yourselves a fantastic Wednesday. I'll see you back here tomorrow for January's "Buy This -- Not That", so if you've got Christmas gift cards or money that you're itching to spend, be back here in the morning. It's my personal favorite post to write each month because, let's face it, it gives me the chance to shop for myself - oops! ; )

  3. We tried every swaddle in the world and miracle blanket is a total game changer! It's pretty serious as far as how tight the baby is swaddled but it worked for us!

  4. I read reviews on the Ollie swaddle and people LOVE, LOVE, LOVE it. We used the miracle swaddle, but our baby boy grew out of swaddling quickly so I cannot say we loved it or hated it.

  5. Love the lip color ...may have to check it out!
Your sweet Ains is such a doll. She seriously looks like a baby doll. Hope you're enjoying and loving every single moment with your pretty chickies. I always said I'd rather have my hands full rather than empty. It meant my heart is full, too! <3

  6. I did not love the miracle blanket. Felt too small to use very long and my newborns could get out of them. you can swaddle just as well using Aden and Anais blankets if you practice.

  8. The miracle blanket is legit. I may or may not have cried when my kid outgrew it. He's enormous though, and you make tiny enough kiddos that you should be able to use them for a good long time. Once you get the hang of the flaps, I found it easier to use than a regular A&A blanket.

  9. I neeeeeed that lipstick. The color is phenomenal! And rock on for taking the girls out all by yourself. You're the best mama! We finally took down our Christmas tree and decor last night and our house looks SO BARE. You're totally right, I just want to redecorate! Happy Wednesday :)

  11. I've never commented before...but when you asked for honest reviews about the Miracle Blanket, I had to share my thoughts.

I have a 6 1/2 year old and an almost 4 year old and we used the Miracle Blanket with both. It is the ONLY swaddle blanket that worked for them, and they loved it. While they may have fought the initial swaddle, they were content after a few seconds. I used a combination of Babywise and Healthy Sleep Habits Happy Child for scheduling and sleep training, as well as using the Miracle Blanket. My boys were always swaddled at night and for naps until around 5 months. (I always broke them of the swaddle for naps first.) The Miracle Blanket not only helped them fall asleep on their own, it helped them to stay asleep!! Both also use pacifiers. :) For middle of the night feedings, I would change diapers and then swaddle them before nursing. This allowed me to lay them directly in bed and they would go to sleep on their own. Some people say I got lucky to have to great sleepers, however, I know that it took work (sleep training!) and the Miracle Blanket. I think the Miracle Blanket is priceless! Oh, and once you figure out how to do it, it becomes second nature. :)

  12. I swear by the miracle blanket. I'm pretty sure that what what I can credit to my Ellie sleeping thru the nights starting at 4 days old (and her rock and play!) But it's worth the $30, it's actually worth buying a second if your little one likes it because it was like def con 5 when she pooped in it and it was in the wash during nap time.

  13. Also, they have the best return policy if you don't like it (which you totally will!)

  14. For my first child (8) I used every swaddle blanket I could find and none worked. Then when I had my second (5) someone told me about the miracle blanket and I was a little skeptical since I had tried so many with my first that didn't work. Well, let me tell you, it was a miracle! He used it for almost 6 months before he outgrew it but that's usually when they stop getting swaddled anyway. I still have the blanket packed away with his coming home outfit because it was so wonderful and special to us. I had the Aden and Anais blanket and loved them because they are so cute and comfy but I only used the miracle blanket for naps and bedtime. Get it, you won't be disappointed!! She is a beauty!

  18. Love your posts always! Re - Miracle blanket. We did not like it for Sofia, what we did like was the Woombie, the dual zipper is very convenient and since it's a swaddle pots babes can't break free of it ;)

Loving your new boots, I just bought a pair of cros embossed boots so I need to pass :( but admiring yours

  20. We used the miracle blanket with both our babies and they were GREAT sleepers. One slept through the night at 8 weeks and one at 6 weeks. They got so used to it that they would fall asleep almost instantly when wrapped. We are expecting our third and will use the miracle blanket again. I cannot tell you how amazing it is. And diddo on wanting to redecorate the house. I also want to throw everything away (I hate clutter).

  21. the miracle blanket is NOTHING compared to a woombie---seriously the woombie is unreal and they cannot get their arms out. My daugher LOVED being swaddled too and it's the only thing that works, I promise :) http://www.woombie.com

  22. LOVE the Miracle blanket! My Owen found his way out of every single type of swaddle. He actually busted his legs out of the miracle blanket every night, so we ended up putting a regular velcro swaddler on top of the miracle blanket. Crazy, I know, but it worked for us. As far as growing out of it goes, both of your girls are petite, and most babies don't need swaddled after the first few months anyway. :-)

  23. The Miracle Blanket was a game changer. Echo the double swaddling Megan mentions above. Got our little to sleep a little longer :)
