A Blonde Wedding: {Our Photos - Family}

Hellooooooo and happy Tuesday, Blonde Ambitioners! Hope Monday wasn't too rough for y'all.

It's going to take a couple more times to get all of our wedding pics on here, but that's OK! (My blog, my wedding pics, right? Haha) I do apologize to those who may be growing weary of wedding photos...trust me, I feel ya. Howevs, I gotta do the southern moms and grandmas proud and show these lurvely pics to y'all : )

These are shots of each of our families and some cute kiddos before the ceremony:

Things got a little hot and heavy between our niece, Ava and our ringbearer, Cooper ; )

With our Pastor, Carness Vaughan (WE LOVE HIM!)

Such a ladykiller : )

Our ADORABLE nephew (and coincidentally one of the best babies ever), Luke!
Fun Fact: He was recently named one of St. Louis's beautiful babies in a contest.

"Let's do this wedding thang!"

Me and my sweet, hilarious brother, Matthew (Sorry ladies! He's taken!) He's younger than me, but we've always had a special bond.

The best dad and mom in the world...

This cracks me up! This pic was taken right before I went in to see Stephen for our first look. In this photo, my Memaw and Grandma were saying, "Don't go in there! Stephen's in there!" After that, we had to explain to them that nowadays, people see each other before they walk down the aisle : )

A Striped Dress, a Fried Chicken and Another Hog Victory

Welcome back from le weekend, chicas! Hope everyone had a great couple of days off!

1. This weekend, we took the boat out for a COLD ride! We're winterizing it soon, so we're trying to squeeze every last bit of fun out of it that we can. Ari came along for the ride, while Cash stayed at home guarding the backyard. We thought taking both doggies out would be a bit much : )

2. Saturday, Dee came up from southern Arkansas and we went shopping at our local outdoor mall, The Promenade! I picked up this cutie for just a few dollars at Francesca's:

3. Since we're hosting Thanksgiving this year, we practiced with our new turkey fryer Saturday night on a chicken. Stephen had fun injecting the bird with the Cajun butter marinade, haha!

4. Y'all submitted over 80 pie recipes following Friday's post!! That BLEW me away! I was expecting 4, maybe 5 recipes at most, but needless to say, I got a few more : ) Since I'm not sure I'll have time to bake 80 pies before T-giving, I'm going to use a number generator to select 3 random entries. I'll bake all three pies and let Stephen do a blind taste test! The winner gets a fabulous prize (which has now been purchased) and the peace of mind knowing they've solved my pie dilemma!

5. We are currently loving this commercial in the S household. Makes me smile : )

5. The Razorbacks whooped the Vols this weekend. Woo Pig, indeed!

6. I refuse to decorate for Christmas until after Thanksgiving. Call me Scrooge, but I think each wonderful holiday needs its time to shine. Christmas tends to steal the spotlight from Thanksgiving and I feel the need to stand up for Turkey Day and say, "WE'RE NOT GONNA TAKE IT ANY MORE!"

Sorry if I'm a little touchy...our neighbors put up their retina-burning Christmas lights on Halloween night. We haven't had a good night of sleep since then because they're gleaming through our bedroom 24-flipping-7.

It's a bit like that episode of Seinfeld when the Kenny Rogers Roasters sign infiltrates Kramer's bedroom window:

Any good recs on blackout curtains? : )

Pie in the Sky

via Hummingbird Bakery
Happy Friday, lovey dovies! So happy that the week has come to an end and that the next two days will probably consist of sleeping late : )

We plan to get up early on Saturday, run a half marathon, organize our closet according to color and prepare a six course gourmet dinner for our 20 closest friends.

Yeah, not so much.

In reality, we plan to make chili, watch the Hogs game and test out pie recipes in preparation for Thanksgiving. We're incredibly ambitious on the weekends, you see.

But about the actual making of those aforementioned pies...

I need help, y'all.

I've attempted a pie once. It was nothing short of a trainwreck. I mean the crust burned, filling was oozing out the top, the smoke detector was going off...pretty much, it was a smashing failure.

(I'd recount all the gory details, but I'm pretty sure I've blocked it out of my mind. I like to think of it as Post-Traumatic Culinary Disaster Stress Disorder.)

Or PTCDSD, a brief and easy to remember acronym.

Anywho, when the fams were discussing where the Thanksgiving festivities would be held this year, I , the naive newlywed, proudly raised my hand, ready to tackle the duties of holiday hostessing. But now, well, I'm kind freakin'.

Stephen purchased a turkey fryer from Amazon last week and my mom-in-law is making rolls. My dear momma has volunteered to come up a day early and help me prepare sides and such. But the one, lingering dark spot over my head are those darn pies...

I'm good with cakes, better with brownies and have been known to kick booty at cookies. But it seems that anything requiring making and rolling dough are just...welll...hard.

So here's where you come in...

I need y'all to email me some pie recipes. Pumpkin, strawberry, peanut butter, sweet potato, whatever and whathaveyou. Just send it.

What do you get for this? Well, a fabulous little gift. I'm not sure yet, because I haven't bought it. (The picture of thought and preparedness, I am.)

But it will be fabulous. You can bet your Kate Spade slingbacks on that.

Anywho, I'll pick the top 3 pie recipes, post them on here and have y'all vote on which is your favorite. This may require you to actually make the 3 pies. Or you can just vote on which is the prettiest. The recipe that gets the most votes, get a gift from moi.

To keep this contest fair, the judge will be my husband. He doesn't know who in the Sam Hill any of y'all are, so he'll be very diplomatic about the whole ordeal. I'll even blindfold him, if it would make y'all feel better.

Ready, set....EMAIL YOUR PIE RECIPIES!!

The Glittered Nail (Yep, Just One!)

via Pinterest

Welp, due to some circumstances here at home, I didn't get to go to Miami : (  I was bummed, but also excited that I didn't have to travel solo, haha. (I'm not the most daring of travellers, you see...)
However the reason that kept me from going is a GOOD thing, so hopefully I'll be able to report lots of fun news to y'all soon. Let's just say there are changes on the horizon that will be so great for our little family! (And no, I am not with child, ha!)

Anywho, so today I wanted to talk about a trend that I'm LOVING. Lately, I've been seeing the one glittered nail trend from this past summer carry over into more fall-ish looking manicures. Stars like Vanessa Hudgeons have been rocking it on the red carpet and I le dig.

On a whim, I went to Target yesterday and bought the supplies to create my own glittered nail mani. The results below were attained by two coats of Essie's Devil's Advocate (a dark, deep plum) followed by two coats of Sephora for OPI's Only Gold for Me on only my left ring finger nail. I was quite pleased with the results!

I also heard some fun symbolism behind this mani. Married, Engaged or Committed chicas paint their left ring finger nail. Single and Ready to Mingle girls paint their right ring finger nail! Clever, no?

I guess if you aren't into nails, you could always paint up some glittery boots! These are adorbs...

Think you'll attempt this manicure? I swear, it's SO much fun to wear!

A Blonde Wedding: {Our Photos - Wedding Party}

Like I promised last week, I'll be breaking up our wedding photos into small doses once a week. I figure, for those who are sick of looking at wedding photos, this would be a more palatable approach : )

If you couldn't tell by way teensy bit obvious post title, we'll be looking at shots of the wedding party today! We were lucky to have such an energetic, fun group of gals and guys to take part in our special day. My girls and I got to spend a good part of the day together, just laughing it up and goofing off. I'm guessing by these photos that the guys had just as much fun as we girls did ; )

Such a ladies man, haha!
