Banana Powder, A Nursery Update and More

I'll be honest, blogging is going to be hit or miss for probably the entire month of October as we prepare for the arrival of Miss Priss and then adjust to being new parents. I'm determined to soak up every last, amazing drop of the coming days and weeks, so I know you'll understand if this little corner of the internet doesn't get quite as much attention as it once did ; )

Which would explain why it's 8:19 p.m. and this post is just now going up.

Banana Powder

If you follow me on Instagram, you probably saw my photo of the Ben Nye Bella Luxury Powder. I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE this stuff, y'all! It's a finishing powder, used after primer and foundation, to give an airbrushed look to your face.
I applied mine on top of my foundation very lightly and love that it gave my skin a polished finish. I will say, a little bit goes a long way, so use sparingly or you run the risk of it looking "cakey". I also applied it with a big, fluffy powder brush in a circular motion ONLY to my T-zone, (forehead, nose and chin.) Again, I wouldn't go crazy with it, or it might look a little thick.

Here's what it looks like in natural light...and with a Razorback face tattoo ; ) Hey, it was game day when I took this!

Not a great picture, (snapped it with the Mac while I typed this post a sec ago), but I haven't touched up my face since I applied my make-up first thing this morning. I call that a W-I-N.

*I purchased the 1.5 oz. container from this online store for only $10, ($16 with shipping.) Note: It defaults to the 3.0 oz. size for a bit higher price when you click on the link.

*Nope, didn't paid (in dollars or product) to say this stuff, nor was this a sponsored post : ) I simply thought I'd pass along the product recommendation.

The Nursery

So after hmmm-ing and hawww-ing for a few days, I think we've decided to wait until Caroline gets here to show any photos of the nursery. After some thinking, it felt more appropriate to Stephen and me to let Baby Girl see her room first : )

(Yes, we're aware that she won't remember or care, but it just didn't seem right to share it with the internet before the resident of the room had a chance to scope it out for herself, ha!) Not to worry though, she'll be here no later than October 14 and we will definitely post lots of photos soon thereafter!

  2. Totally interested in trying that powder now. I did purchase the Maybelline lipstick in Blissful Berry (wearing it today, actually!) and I love it. Perfect shade of berry for us fair skinned blondes:)

I didn't share pictures of my son's nursery until after he arrived, so I completely understand your decision to wait. We will all be super excited to see it whenever you do decide to share! I'm sure it's lovely:)

  8. Jill,

It automatically defaults to the larger 3 oz. size for a bit higher price. I bought the 1.5 oz. size for the lower price, so you'll need to manually select that size.
