Pics from the Fashion Show!

Morning, girls! I hope you all enjoyed a blissful weekend of relaxation and, if you live in NWA, fashion. As you know, Friday night I got the opportunity to walk in the Savoir-Faire runway show as part of Northwest Arkansas Fashion Week. It was an amazing experience that I'll never forget, (and will hopefully get to do again next year!)

Here are a few gazillion pics from the goings on Friday evening. Enjoy, bunnies.

The theme for this year's Savoir-Faire show was "electricity". Think lots of chartreuse, cobalt blue, day glo yellow, neon green and bold, black and white stripes. One of the things I thought that made this show stand out was Tess's genius use of head wear. From turbans and beanies, to baseball caps and floral headpieces, every head was adorned with something fabulous.

 One darling girl right there.
Top left to right, clockwise:
1) A very pretty line-up before the show. 2) Tess and her amazing team. 3) Moi. Getting runway ready. 3) A little kissy face on the runway.

1) SF models before the show! 2) Fun stripes and bright blue were a crowd favorite.

The amazing Josh applying my make-up.

My style sistah : ) Love you G!

This man came and waited for five hours while I got ready and walked. He is AMAZING.

Final walk through with sweet Tara rocking her floral headpiece.

 "Oh, hello NWA fashionistas."

 Gina works the catwalk.

Because we take everything very seriously...

Gina and I pose for a quick pic after the show. Sidenote: I had a blast getting to wear the dramatic make-up and turban. It was such a stretch from my day-to-day look, and so much fun.
Top left to right, clockwise:
1) Champagne, hairspray and curling irons - the makings of a great fashion show. 2) Keslyn getting her make-up done by the uber-talented Josh. 3) Beautiful Anna poses with her stunning headpiece. 4) A room full of excited models!

*Stay tuned tomorrow for a recap of some more of my favorite shows, including Maude!

**And on Wednesday, I have a fun, casual Savoir-Faire outfit post featuring the amazing Chaser tee and Blank Denim Boyfriend jeans they gifted me last month.

iPhone Picture Purge: {Holiday!...Celebrate!}

This post title makes me want to sing the song below by my friend Madge...

Production quality of music videos has sure come a long way, friends.

I'm kind of proud of my updo I managed to create for a photoshoot yesterday! It involved a lot of twisting and pinning and poofing, but I think the end result wasn't too shabby. I'd do a tutorial, but I probably couldn't pull it off again - ha!
Ruby and I spent New Year's Eve (Monday) relaxing in cozy attire: beanie, chambray and luxe scarf.  I'm determined to make beanies cool again : )
shirt: Hazel's Haven // scarf: Savoir-Faire // beanie: Target (purchase here.)
We threw a little dinner party for some friends last Saturday evening. There's a thing about Southern women: you'll never leave one of our dinners empty-handed. Really. You'll always leave with food, a cookbook, a new recipe or a cute favor. That's just how we roll.

I found the above nifty little wine bags at an antique store, popped a bottle of vino in them and gave them to our guests as party favors. Win-win-win.

Christopher Elbow chocolates (which are really like tiny works of edible art) that a very generous service provider sent to our office the week before Christmas. My co-workers and I made ourselves practically sick that day, eating all of that indulgent chocolate. It was gluttony at it's finest.

Wore these earrings for a few outfit photos yesterday. Um, they came from Target (purchase here.) For $13 (!!)
Presh and cheap. Yes, cheap. (We say "cheap" on this blog. Some things just are.)

New Year's Eve was our proposal anniversary. Took this little pic for Instagram on Monday night to commemorate a holiday that forever will be one of the most special, at least in our book. I get teary just re-living the memory of our engagement in 2010. Gaw, y'all - it's good stuff, life.

Ruby did a lot of this over her Christmas/New Year's holiday. And yes, our dog daughter thinks she is a person. (And we don't tell her otherwise.)

One of my Christmas gifts from the husband. They're dramatic and slightly over the top. Just like me.
Frankly, I love them.

Still having withdrawals from the days we spent at my parents' farm over the week of Christmas. I love a bustling city, but if I had to choose, I'd choose the country every time. My family has been there for four generations...I never want to be too far from this place.

It was a grand ole time, friends. And I can't wait to do it all again next year.

Be blessed, lovelies-

Weekend in Pics: Crystal Bridges

This weekend, we hosted our good friends Melissa and Ben. M and B are one of our very favorite couples and they are actually getting married this fall (eeek!) They got engaged the month after our wedding last September and they really couldn't be more perfect for each other.

P.S. Ben- I got to see Melissa's dress and buddy, you are in for a treat! Gorgeous!

We spent the past two days bopping around Northwest Arkansas and eating delicious, local food, touring the new Crystal Bridges Museum and riding around Beaver Lake on the boat. It was a darn good weekend, here in our neck of the woods.

The museum was just incredible. The fact that we have such an amazing attraction right in our own backyard speaks volumes about how far NWA has come in terms of embracing culture. I mean, we Arkansans hardly ever wear shoes, have access to electricity or utilize indoor plumbing, so this was a real treat : )

(Hear that? It's the sound of me inserting my tongue into my cheek.)

Encased in a trees and wildflowers, the museum is built in a circular layout with tons of exposed beams, natural light and aged steel. Additionally, Crystal Bridges Museum was the only U.S. location to make it on Travel & Leisure's "Hottest Travel Destinations" list for 2012-2013!

In fact, one Drew Barrymore was in town just two weeks ago visiting our little attraction.

I've always been proud to be from Arkansas, but places like the Clinton Library and this museum make me so thankful to live in a state that appreciates both the slow pace of life and the beauty of fine art.

Be blessed, lovelies-

Our Easter Weekend...In Pics

Hi, y'all! I hope every one of you had a faboosh Easter weekend. I'd tell you sentence by sentence about what we did, but that's far more labor-intensive to take in than simple pics and captions, right?

Not that y'all are simple-minded, but I'm aware that it's Monday and this particular weekday requires simplicity. At least for this girl, anyway.

Stephen and I took our first ride on the boat for the 2012 season. This excited us to no end because this year, we broke down and forked over the extra dough for a boat slip in the marina. This means I no longer have to help him haul that stinkin' 4,000 lb. thing on and off a ramp, which usually ends with me getting sweaty and moody before we've even left the dock.

Sidenote: If you've never seen 5'4", 110 lb. blonde guiding a massive truck and boat trailer down a ramp, you've never experienced true comedy.

Thankfully, this year, all we do is start 'er up and back 'er out. Easy peasy.

Boat Slips: Saving marriages one ride at a time.

Stephen was so disappointed to be on the lake for the evening. Can't you tell?

Quite a view, huh? The only thing we were missing was some vino...
Happy and somewhat red-looking (thanks to some weird Instagram filter) girl on the lake!

Easter Sunday, we had some time to piddle around and take pics before church. This rarely happens, us running on time for church, so it needed to be documented. (To be fair, it is usually a fiasco with my hair and it's poofage that renders us being tardy for the Methodist-Church-party.)

Entire outfit via Francesca's Collections. Except for the shoes, which are permanently sewn on to my feet. Those are from Tar-jay.

Stephen winces every time I suggest we should take pics...he knows that by "a few photos", I mean a full-blown photo shoot. But my husband, being the good and patient (patient only with me) man that he is, always obliges and smiles and looks ever so handsome.

And because I was having a good hair day, (those are few and far between and MUST be recorded on the iPhone accordingly).

And finally, I'll leave you with some real cuteness. One of our little nephews, Luke. He lives in St. Louis with Greg and Kelsey, (Stephen's brother and brother's wife), and his smile is infectious. They sent this over via text before church yesterday. He was wearing his Easter pants and goin' to town on his rocking horse.

We should all live with this much joy.

Be blessed, lovelies-
