Pining for Pins

via Design Scouting

Welcome back from the weekend, dear readers. I hope everyone had a great weekend and was able to enjoy some football, yummy food and, well, whatever it is you like doing on weekends.

The holidays are a comin’ and my compulsive decorating habits are about to hit an all-time high. I can just feel it.

Although I have utterly no desire to decorate for Christmas right now, it’s still never too early to “pin” some nifty ideas, right? So, while I take the rest of November to let my Halloween/fall décor do its thing, here are a few holiday “pinners” that inspire me to no end.

Follow them with me and get motivated to be merry! Or to dress stylishly! Or to eat better food!

(Apparently it’s “use an abundance of exclamation points, even though it goes against everything professional writing styles tell us” day.)

The pretty lass behind Matchbook Magazine frankly outdoes herself with stunning pins year-round. Her “Holiday” board is still light, but I know that as soon as we get a bit closer to December, she’ll be pinning full force.

Kimberly from Eat. Sleep. Wear.

I have no idea how she finds these exquisite photos, but I don’t care – they’re brilliant. You’ll want to pay close attention to her “Entertain” board this holiday season…it’s swanky and delicious.

I hope you’re already following this graphic design/style extraordinaire, but if you aren’t, I pray you do soon. She’s fiercely keen to what catches the eye and every photo she pins gets my decorating/styling/cooking/drink-making wheels turning something fierce.

The mother of all pinners, Pascale is not only strikingly pretty, but genius when it comes to knowing exactly which images will evoke emotion from viewers. If you want to give your creative streak a kick in the pants, let Pascale be the one to do it.

This blogger for The Daily Telecraft is also an Atlanta-based artist. She has a ton of variety, far past the walls of holiday decorating. She sheds all pretenses of the unexpected and channels purely unique content.

This genius of the pin board...wait. Nah, she's overrated. Best to follow those listed above if you want to be wowed : )

Anywhoodle, stay tuned tomorrow for…a surprise post! (It’ll be a surprise to me, too. The picture of preparedness, I am.)

Spring Sorbet

Oh, Pinterest. You never cease inspire me...sigh...

I'm positively obsessed with the pics I've seen on Pinterest of the emerging color trends for spring 2012. I'm probably most excited to dive into the sorbet color pallettes that will be uber-popular in the coming months.

So pretty. So fresh. So what we need to drag us out of the winter doldrums.

Recent Pin-spiration

So ok, some of y'all have asked if I have a Pinterest.

Short answer - nope.

Long answer - I applied for an invite last Monday and apparently have been added to their waiting list - what tha?? Maybe this was their nice way of saying, "We think you're great and all, but we really just see you as a friend..."

In other words, I think Pinterest has commitment issues and doesn't want to solidify any kind of relationship with me.

Can it be? Is Pinterest just not that into me?

I guess my eye make-up tutorial video blog was too much for him.

Although I'm feeling a little burned, I still wanted to share some images that caught my eye this week:

1) Ok, the bob. I've got a personal love/hate/lukewarm relationship with the bob. I've had one before, many years ago before I discovered that it made my face look ginormous. I've seen so any chicas who look presh with the bob and I'm immediately jealous of their ability to wear short hair.

At times, I'm tempted to run out and chop off my hair and go all bob-like. At other times, I'm really happy when I feel my hair touch the middle of my back. (You see, I'm really shallow) In the end, we all know I don't have the nerve to chop the hair-ski. BUT if any of you have more rocks than me and are thinking of cutting your hair short - PUH-LEAZE get the haircut above- kthanksbye.

2) I've never consider striped curtains, but maybe I am now after seeing the below pic. It's a little jailhouse-rock-meets-rugby-shirt, but I still love it. Stripes are "in" this fall, after all...

3) I never knew I needed a feather ring until I the one below. Now, it seems as though my life is incomplete...

4) Hi, my name is Lottsa Neckla Says and I'm awesome.

5) It seems that I'm unable to get enough leopard print this season. This skirt did not help my fettish. One. Bit.

6) Pin-heads, I know y'all have seen these, but I still can't get over how chic Erika's Black Matte/Patent nails are! Holy OPI !

I'm gonna play hard to get and see if that ploy works.

If Pinterest calls, just tell him I'm washing my hair...

P.S. - BREAKING NEWS...guess what I saw this morning after I had written this post. Obviously, Pinterest can read my mind. We're soulmates like that.
