Confessional: {The Next Installment}

via FGR

The first Confessional post was so well-received that I thought I’d give ‘er a second go. Here’s some truth for your day of Thurs:

1. I start counting down the days to the weekend on Sunday night. Not that our weekend plans are that thrilling or anything, but lately the weeks have been fast and frantic and frankly, by the time Thursday rolls around, I need a 2 day intermission.

2. I may or may not be already looking at a second LV bag. I’m really craving the Neverfull for summer, since I tote so much around all the time. I know my trusty, Sonic slush-stained LL Bean bag would do the same duty, but just not quite as fashionably.

In summary, Louis Vuitton = current addiction. I had a feeling this would happen…

3. I don’t watch American Idol. Let me clarify, I don’t have anything against American Idol, I’ve just never really gotten into the show. Does this make me less patriotic or loyal to my vocally talented fellow citizens?

4. Speaking of TV watching…I gotta admit. I really enjoy watching shows like Hoarders, simply because it makes me feel like my apartment might be the cleanest 500 square feet this side of the Mason Dixon. I also makes me feel, (gasp!), normal. In fact, I’m pretty sure I have some sort of sick fascination with watching the disarray of other people’s lives. Intervention, Teen Mom 2, and Bridezilla are also good for the ego… (not that I watch them, but…)

Yes, I realize that we ( i.e. me ) have all sinned and fallen short of the glory and possibly held on to far too many old Glamour magazines at one time or another, but never on cable television.

I really hope this doesn’t make me a bad person.

5. Sidenote: After watching Hoarders, I get these sudden urges to go scrub baseboards, reorganize my linen closet and alphabetize my spice rack. Even though I’ve never actually scrubbed baseboards or attempted to alphabetically arrange parsley and cumin.

6. I have gotten a Starbucks vanilla non-fat latte every stinkin’ day this week without fail at 3 p.m. This is not only putting a dent in my wallet, but also making me jittery, like a frightened Chihuahua, from caffeine overdose. It’s ridiculous and it must stop.

7. I once had someone submit me as a contestant for The Bachelor. I actually was contacted by ABC for a follow-up phone interview (which was shocking, because I had no clue I had even been nominated and honestly had never even watched the show), but ended up meeting Stephen and immediately knew that he was destined to be my Luv-ah and that Brad Womack and his weaksauce vocabulary didn’t stand a chance : ) There but for the grace of God, I could have been on this last season as “Leslie from Arkansas”. Let’s just say I’m pretty jazzed with the way the whole thing worked out.

Be blessed, lovelies-

  10. Um, seriously, watching shows like Teen Mom, though sad, always makes me feel better about my life.

And no matter what the season, I'm always addicted to LV

  11. Don't feel bad about American Idol... I haven't watched since Kelly Clarkson won the first season when I was still in Highschool...

And oh yeah, trashy TV is my weakness just because it makes me feel better about my life!

  14. i think i laughed through this entire post! :)
i have a love-hate relationship with teen mom, real housewives, bridezillas, etc, etc, etc! jeffrey hates when i watch it in bed (in the middle of the night) b/c he says it gives him nightmares to hear "women screaming at each other over such nonsense!" haha! :)
    and - i don't watch A.I. either....never have (except for carrie underwood's season) ;0)

  15. oh Hoarders made me realize I was a HOARDER! terrifying discovery! I wasnt a gross hoarder... no food, no trash, no filth. i just couldn't get rid of clothes (even ones that didn't fit, never would, that i wouldn't ever wear, etc.) and things that i had memories tied to (tons of papers, cards, childhood gifts, you get the drift). Now i'm an organizational freak. so YAY! go hoarders!

  17. I'm glad someone else questions their loyalty to America for not watching AI. I've just never been a fan.
As for Hoarders- omg. That is the best motivation for me to get my house clean. Like a "lets eat dinner on the bathroom floor because its so fresh and so clean, clean!". And I do love the confessional posts. Guilty of watching the newest season in Vegas.

  18. I want a neverfull too. They're so useful and seem like they really would hold everything.

That's so fun that you were nominated for the bachelor. It's nice that everything worked out for you like it did, but it still must be fun to have that little story!
