Bumpdate: {15 Weeks}

Gender?
We know (eep!), but are going to keep that to ourselves for a bit : ) SO excited for this!

Weight Loss/Gain?
Neither. The scale isn't moving, but it appears that at least I'm not losing anymore. My OB said his wife is built very similarly and only gained 15 pounds total with their baby (who weighed 7 lbs. 2 oz. at birth), so he isn't concerned, which was great to hear!

Cravings?
The sickness is SO much better! As far as cravings go,  I'm loving salads right now. Strange, I know. Like, every day I crave a big salad with garden tomatoes, cucumbers, sprouts, banana peppers, etc. So yummy and fresh! And Chick-Fil-A sweet tea.

Anything fried though makes me sick to think about. We ate at Catfish Hole (a local catfish house) last Saturday for lunch and I got so ill afterward. Apparently, this baby is a health nut, haha! (A little bit like its daddy...hmmm)

Favorite Moment this Week?
Having a great doctor's appointment last Friday with a new doctor. We got a fantastic report on Baby S and got to enjoy an hour-long ultrasound looking at our Little Bean. All signs (so far) are pointing to a healthy baby, despite an earlier report we received from a different OB. We pray daily for the wellness and health of our little one and thank God every day for giving us this special gift.

Funniest Moment this Week?
Browsing online with Stephen for baby items and realizing we have NO CLUE what we're doing. Bumbos, binkies, woobies, lovies, Mobys...I mean, what the???

Sleeping?
Sleeping like a...wait for it...baby : )

Clothes?
So far, just wearing my regular clothes. And yeah, my pants still fit. However, I'm giving serious consideration to a pair of maternity jeans for the simple fact that I have a legitimate excuse to wear a pair of elastic waist pants. To work! And pretend they are real jeans! I mean, why aren't we wearing those all the time, not just during pregnancy? They would completely take care of the awkward moment at Thanksgiving when we have to excuse ourselves to go change into a pair of sweats.

  1. I've always thought that they should make maternity jeans for non-pregnant women. Hello, put some spanx on top of that denim to get rid of the muffin top and not have any awkward skin showing...

  4. Glad to hear that everything is going well with baby S! Such good news:) One bit of advice: Don't rush the maternity jeans. Ugh! Wear your normal pants (and get a Belly Band) for as long as possible. Trust me. By the time you hit third trimester like me, you will want to burn every pair of your maternity pants in favor of normal zip up/button up pants. The elastic bands are great in theory, but they never sit quite right and are always having to be pulled up and just aren't as flattering as normal pants. I am so ready to get rid of mine (in just 5 short weeks!!!)

  8. you look so cute preggo :) I wouldn't worry about the eight either. I put on 20lbs in my pregnancy and had a 8lb8oz baby. Every woman is built different.

Oh and when you do have your baby, you will see that they don't quite "sleep like a baby" ;) get your sleep now

  9. CONGRATS!!!! How exciting to be able to follow you along on this journey.

Yes, the best part of pregnancy is the elastic banded denim! I have often wondered why luxury lines don't join up with Spanx and create the ulimate "skinny" jean!

  10. You mean, maternity jeans aren't real jeans?!

When you go register, take a mom friend who has been down the road recently (within the last couple years). I know it's fun to think about going with the hubby, but seriously, going with someone who knows what their doing and what you're actually going to need makes it so much easier and a lot less daunting. Then take hubby later if you still really want to. I don't know how I would have survived if I didn't do it that way!

  11. I totally agree with Jessica! Skip the maternity jeans as long as possible, and when you do get a pair- invest in those bad boys! It's my biggest regret with all three pregnancies is that I've never invested in a pair of maternity jeans, and just went w/ a pair from Motherhood, then Old Navy, and then Target. Big mistake. Thankfully, I have two pair of jeans, that I can wear totally unbuttoned with the bella band, but those won't last much longer! Glad baby is doing well!

  12. You look great! I'm at 39 weeks and 2 days and have only gained 17lbs so far. Your body will do what it needs to do..whether that's gaining 30-40 lbs or just 15 lbs. as long as your dr isn't concerned, don't stress about it too much. :)

  14. I just love your blog, thanks for always updating us with such great content. Congraulations on your little one. I just had a baby a couple months ago and it's the greatest joy you'll ever know. Don't worry that you don't know what you're doing, I believe we're all just trying to do our best and I have all the confidence that you'll do great.

  15. During my pregnancy I craved salads almost daily for about a month. Be careful though! That much lettuce didn't do so well on my digestive system. Ha! You look adorable.

  16. Love this post. You are precious!

P.S. I'm not sure what kind of sprouts you are eating but I am trying to get pregnant and I read you should avoid certain sprouts for various reasons. Just something to consider. Crazy the foods you need to be cautious about!

How long until we get to know boy or girl?!?

  21. Congrats on a healthy baby and mommy! Can't wait to hear if you're little peanut is a boy or a girl! Doctors say that my son's baby is going to be a boy but I'm waiting on that confirmation ultrasound before I go crazy and start buying stuff.

And many (lo, many) years ago, I too was built like you and only gained 15 pounds with my daughter and she weighed 6 lbs 9 oz. As long as you and the baby are healthy, who cares that you're not gaining weight!
