The Christmas Shoes

This article on MSN today brought me to tears at my desk. It also gives me hope for humanity. This time of year makes us even more aware of the blessings that surround us. From food and housing, to even the simplest of things like a hot shower or pair of shoes.

Please read this.

Instead of Confessional Friday tomorrow, I want us all to go out and do one good deed. That gives us all day tomorrow and the entire weekend to make it happen.

#ChristmasShoes

Let others on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram know, too and encourage them to join in. You can use the hashtag #ChristmasShoes. I'd love to see how far we can spread this.

God bless this police officer and the recipient of the shoes.

Be blessed, lovelies-

  4. Someone sent me this story earlier today and it brought tears to my eyes. I've learned over the years that some of the most kind people are those we often rush past on the street because they might be dirty or begging for food. Stopping to talk to them, to hear their story, does wonders for their hearts.

  7. Wow. That made me tear up. What a good person and what a reminder about what the holidays are really about. And being kind to one another. And understanding we're all in this life together, so we should help each other out... Great post.

  10. So, it's not Christmas shoes, which is good because I can't listen to that song without bursting into tears, but....

there's this thing that started floating around blogland called Acts of Random Kindness (ARK)...there are different abbreviations, but the gist is the same. What a great thing to try to do, not just at Christmas, but all year!

  11. I know he is such a wonderful man, and such an inspiration! I'm pretty broke at the moment, but I've been wanting to do something for Toys for Tots. I like helping out childrens charities. I'm also supporting small businesses and entrepreneurs. I'll be doing most of -possibly- all of my Christmas shopping through Etsy this year.
