Happy Fat Tuesday, ya'll! Mardis Gras has been in full swing over the past week and everything has been leading up to today, the mother of all celebrations.
As a southern girl, I've always loved the week of Mardi Gras. For us, this usually means a solid 7 days of rich food, gatherings of family and friends and plenty of "social events", haha. It's the one time of the year that almost everyone seems to let loose and have fun.
We started our Fat Tuesday at work with a King Cake this morning. Donna, one of my talented baker friends, brought this little beauty in for us! Yes girls, it tasted just as good as it looks.
Last night I even had a chance to pull some pics of Mardis Gras-inspired clothes. Purple, yellow and green...what's not to love?
This purple dress by Marc Jacobs would be totally appropriate for a dressier Fat Tuesday soiree. Plus, I just read an article in the February issue of Glamour about how purple is the "it" color for Feb/Mar. Who knew? Well, you do now, I guess, haha.
I love how this wrap top from Francesca's is like a scarf/shirt combo in one! I saw this in the store a while back, but could not for the life of me figure out how it was supposed to be worn. Now I see...
This yellow jacket from LuLu's was also one of my faves. How fresh and pretty would this be for spring, ya'll?
I actually bought this dress from Francesca's a week or so ago and am LOVING it. I paired mine with skinny jeans, but you could definitely go sans-pants with it in the warmer months, like the model below.
Heaven forbid we skip shoes, so what better kicks to feature than these gold flats by Maloles? Because every Mardi Gras outfit needs a little sparkle...
And finally, just for good measure, let's throw in a pop of pink. This Rebecca Minkoff clutch seals the deal.
I'm off to eat another piece of King Cake and plan my Fat Tuesday night! Have a delicious day, girlie-poos!
