You Might Be Surprised

via

I thought this sort of post might be kind of a fun way for us to learn a little bit more about each other. Basically, it goes a little something like this:

Write ten things that others might be surprised to know about you. This can be deep, not deep, whatever. The point is to reveal ten little fun factoids about yo'self. Next, tag ten bloggers, (whose blogs you read on a regular basis), to do the same.

Got it? Let's go!

1) You might be surprised to know that...I grew up on a farm. I was raised in the country and spent  my kid years climbing trees, playing in the cow fields and fishing in our pond with my childhood best friend and partner-in-crime, Josh. Together, we turned the farm into our own personal playground.

2) You might be surprised to know that...I'm a professional writer. I get asked from time to time about my "real job". I work as a writer for an amazing PR firm. I'm surrounded by a team that challenges me and teaches me new things every day. No amount of money in the world can buy the peace that comes from having a job that you love. I'm lucky.

3) You might be surprised to know that...I can clog. I was a member of the Red River Cloggers, a dance company that toured the South, throughout my elementary, middle and high school years : ) I also took years of tap and ballet and also cheered on my college's pom squad.

4) You might be surprised to know that...Stephen and I dated for only five months before we got engaged. When you know, you know.

5) You might be surprised to know that...I was studying to be a television news anchor in college, until I decided to follow my passion - writing.

6) You might be surprised to know that... I'm actually a very private/reserved person. Funny, since I work in a creative field and write a personal blog. I've heard before that writers are the most private people you'll ever meet, though. I think there's validity to that statement.

7) You might be surprised to know that... I actually hate browsing and window shopping. I'm much more of an "at-home" shopper. I'll find what I like online and then make a list of what I need at the mall or a certain store. I like to get in and get out. Crazy, I know.

So tell, what things would I be surprised to know about you?

Be blessed, lovelies-

  5. Interesting! I thought about doing a post related to what we do as real jobs. I never realize that I don't really know what most of my bloggy friends do IRL. I'm a writer as well so that makes us twinsies!

  6. Fun facts! I enjoy shopping, but I also dislike browsing. I get what I want, and I get out!

  7. I had a feeling you were a dancer with your long legs but I never would have guessed clogger. That's awesome! I was on the Pom Squad in HS as well. Dancer to the core. I miss those days.

Having a career you love makes your job seem like less of a job and more of a creative outlet for sure.

I might have to play along with this! Thanks for the inspiration!

  8. Like others have said, I'm not surprised you're a writer, especially after you blogged that you hate ending sentences with prepositions, ha!!

I am surprised you grew up on a farm!!

I definitely agree that writers are very private individuals. I'm not a writer by trade {more of a hobby for moi}, but like to keep my cards close to my chest fo' sho'.
