Celebrate We Will: {Halloween Edition}

It's no secret to those of you who have been reading my blog for a while that I LOVE Halloween. I just love the nostalgia that surrounds the it and seeing the little kiddos in the neighborhood all dressed in their costumes.

And come on...any holiday centered around eating candy is a winner in my book.

I have a few things that are on my to-do list this month and I plan to accomplish all of them!

1. Visit the Crescent Hotel.

Stephen and I love Eureka Springs and have been to the Crescent Hotel several times as a fun weekend adventure. If you've never been there, I'd suggest going and definitely taking the ghost tour. It's silly and ridiculous, but so much fun!

2. Go to a pumpkin patch.
Would y'all believe I've never been to a pumpkin patch? It's sad, really. There's evidently a pretty cool patch down the road from our subdivision and I'm set on dragging Stephen to it this weekend.

3. Host a Halloween cookie-baking day for my niece, Ava.
I LOVE my sweet little niece and it's so much fun to see her get excited for Halloween. She's getting to that age where she can do fun little activities, so I want to have a day where we can bake and decorate Halloween cookies together. It's simple, but it's the kind of stuff of which memories are made.

4. Host an All Hallow's Eve blogger party!
I've been brainstorming for a year (no kidding) on how I could throw a Halloween party for local bloggers and I think this might be the year to do it. There are a couple venues in Fayetteville that would be perfect, so I better get to planning!

5. Create cute individual treat buckets for neighborhood kiddos.
Our neighborhood doesn't have a tons of kids, so we only get a handful each year. I plan to go all out and make cool trick'or treat buckets for them this year, rather than just candy. Include fun things like little toys, pencils, crazy glasses, yummy candy, etc. I did this for Ava and Reed and it was a hit!

P.S.
The winner of the Pea Pod Gifts giveaway was sweet Casey Fields! Congrats honey child! An email has been sent to you with further instructions for gettin' the goods.

P.P.S.
My adorable friend/co-worker Gina made it to the second round of the Maude Boutique Model Contest and now, she needs our votes! If you have a sec, go “Like” Gina’s photo on FB and help her become the Maude Girl!

For your vote, Gina promises to buy each of you a pony.

Be blessed, lovelies-

  1. A PONY!?!?!?!?! Say no more, I'm off to vote for Gina ;)

Love the idea of treat buckets. I would do the same, except my neighborhood gets over 450 kids every year :(

  3. It's been YEARS since I visited an actual pumpkin patch - you are inspiring me to do just that... you know instead of purchasing the pumpkins at the local market. I sort of want to go out into the field and pick my own.

Maybe next weekend - that will be on the agenda, seems like a good thing to do on a lazy/laid back anniversary weekend right?

    HAPPY HALLO-SEASON!!! ox

  5. Ummmmm... you have no idea just HOW much Ava (& Reed if he could talk) loved their treat buckets from you. Ava puts her socks on AS SOON as she gets home from school and she puts Reed's on him too. Thanks for thinking of my babies!!
