A Blonde Wedding: {Honeymoon Pics - Day 1}

I really, really wanted to show all these pics in chronological order. Ya know, bridals, salon, then wedding, finally honeymoon. I’m a ridiculous Type-A personality and doing things in a certain order makes me…well….happy. However, it will still be a bit before we get our professional photos in, so I decided to just put up the honeymoon pics.

There are LOTS of candid shots from the reception that our friends and family took, but I want to put those up after the professional photos that Jeremy took.

Anyway, now that I’ve successfully over explained the whole thing, here are some shots from the night we arrived and our first day, which was spent at Boone Hall Plantation!

We had originally thought about planning a trip to Italy for the honeymoon, but lack of time to plan didn’t make Italia an option. We’ve both done the whole beach thing TO DEATH, so that was out, too. Stephen and I both adore the south and good food. Stephen had been to Charleston, SC before for work and he fell in love with the place. We thought it would be a super romantic and laid back destination to spend the week following our wedding.

Boy were we right. Charleston did not disappoint.

View from our balcony!

We stayed at the Harbor View Inn, which is on the corner of Vendue Range, right in the heart of Charleston. When we arrived at the hotel on Sunday night, the concierge had sent up a bottle of champagne and plate of strawberries…bliss, I tell you!

He's a married man now ladies!

The first night we dined at Bocci’s – a famous local Italian eatery known for its amazing gnocchi and great wine. We may or may not have consumed more wine than food….whatevs. It had been a long week and we needed to de-stress : )

After Bocci’s, we went to Social – a trendy local bar with a superb wine selection. We had a couple drinks, then went for a late night stroll through the cobblestone streets of Charleston. I think it was the first night during that walk that I fell in love with the city.

Eggs Meeting Street from Toast

The next day, we dined at Toast, another phenomenal restaurant that is famous for its brunch. I had their Eggs Meeting Street; a fried green tomato, topped with a crab cake and poached egg and covered in spicy remoulade sauce. It was served with cheese grits and a biscuit the size of my fist…HEAVEN, y’all.

Drive way to Boone Hall Plantation
After brunch, we went to Boone Hall Plantation, site of where The Notebook was filmed! The plantation is actually still a working farm today and we were able to take a tour around the whole place by tram. I was in love with the old southern feel of the owner’s house and the ambiance of the gorgeous gardens.

More honeymoon pics from the rest of the week coming next week!

Be blessed, lovelies-
