The Red Dress

via

Today is all about hearts! Whether in the form of candy or in the form of true, romantic love, hearts reign supreme on February 14th.

My heart typically yearns for Starbucks Vanilla Lattes, dark chocolate and Chanel.

But whatevs.

Anywho, each year the American Heart Association hosts Go Red for Women - a movement that encourages women to wear a red dress or any other piece of clothing in honor of someone fighting heart disease. Because we enjoy a pretty pic or twenty around here, behold - your red dress inspiration:

Heart disease is the leading cause of death of women...and unfortunately, has been for some time now. Good news though - heart disease is preventable! By eating healthfully, getting exercise and not smoking, we can cut our risk of developing heart disease by 80%!

Y'all know that heart-related causes are close to my...well...heart- especially right now with the upcoming surgery. I'm glad to know that organizations like the American Heart Association and Go Red for Women are fighting the good fight...one heart at a time.

I'm closing comments on this post today because instead, I'll ask you to say a prayer for the women out there battling heart disease and their families. Together ladies, we shall overcome.

Have a happy heart day, friends.

Be blessed, lovelies-
