Confessional Friday: {Link-Up}

Today’s post starts with a news item. I saw this story online yesterday and it nearly made me bawl. Apparently, officials found 38 dachshund puppies living in one home in Texarkana.

A generous rescue program leader, Jeff Tarpley, took them in and found temporary homes. But still, all 38 still need forever homes. If you’re looking for a pup (and weenie dogs make AMAZING friends), you might check with Jeff’s shelter. I’m sure those little guys would be grateful!

Okay, enough with the sad stuff, let's confess:

1) I'm obsessed with these bright blue pants from ASOS. I posted them Wednesday afternoon and since then, have purchased them. Presh, y'all. Just presh. Yup, I'm a victim of my own gratuitous outfit sharing. #Can'tBeHelped

2) Stephen was in NYC earlier this week on business and I was so excited he came back Wednesday night, I jumped up and down like a five year old when he came in house. It's the little things, y'all.

3) I love T.J. Maxx but HEAVENS TO BRENDA, it stresses me out! I ventured in yesterday in search of...well, nothing really. What I found was a disorganized mess. Lots of screaming babies in strollers, shoes laying in piles on the display shelves and housewares dropped smack dab in the middle of the aisles. Anyone else get shopping anxiety when you go in T.J.?

4) I snuck a tiny square off someone's cake in the breakroom. It looked like it was put out for people to enjoy, so I took a look around and sliced off a teeny piece. : )

5) We've started watching Breaking Bad and we're addicted. Stephen and I pretty much sat through the first episode with our mouths hanging open. It's dirty, it's gritty and it's as addictive as the stuff Walt peddles in the show.

6) I confess that I'm toying with the idea of buying a package at the barre classes in Fayetteville. I tried one a few weeks ago and really enjoyed it. My gym membership expires next month and I don't think I'm going to re-up. Anyone else do Barre and love it?

7) I confess that I wanted to write a number seven and, alas, can't think of anything to say.

Happy Weekend. Go get 'em tigers.

Be blessed, lovelies-

  2. LOVE LOVE LOVE Breaking Bad! You have great taste in fashion and tv. Well done.

TJ Maxx gives me hives strictly for the kids in strollers, screaming, running around. Ugh. It doesn't stop me from braving the mess in search of a great deal though.

PS: Thank you. Now I want to adopt 38 wiener dogs. Not cool.

  3. I can definitely relate about TJ Maxx being stressful. It's my husbands favorite store, but I just don't have the patience for shopping there. The screaming babies, plus the disorganized mess.... too much for me. Not worth the discounted price. :)

  5. I WANT one of those pups. Alas, we have a 65 lb Doberman, a cat, and a turtle. We're bursting at the seams as it is! I totally get T.J. Stressed when I go to T.J. Maxx - but some of the deals are worth it. And, my aunt is opening a Pure Barre studio in Savannah, GA and says that these workouts have completely changed her body. Just FYI: she has two small children and her body puts me to shame. I wish a Barre studio would open here as I am ALL for it! Do it and blog about it for those of us who can't:)

  6. The TeeJ (as I call it) does stress me out too. Sometimes I have to just walk out of there...for my sanity.

Oh, and isn't Breaking Bad awesome?!

  8. I can relate to T.J. Maxx. Also, Forever 21 stresses me out with the piles of clothes. Stick to online shopping with that store. I have done a couple of cardio barre classes and they are great! Definitely gets your heart rate up, but also is relaxing- if that makes sense. Enjoy!

  9. TJ Maxx does give me anxiety. I stick to the perimeter, because the clothing section just overwhelms me. It's crazy.

I've heard so many things about Breaking Bad. I may have to check it out.

  15. OMG I love TJ Maxx! Ours in Joplin is rarely busy and is never messy. That's why I love it so much! I can always find amazing bargains and it's such a peaceful experience for me. Sort of like meditating. :-)

  16. Thank you for posting the article about the dachshund rescue in Texarkana! I would have never seen it if you didn't post about it. I adopted my dachshund/beagle mix from Jeff Tarpley back in December and it's so refreshing to know that he is a great man for saving these dogs lives. I sent him an e-mail letting him know how thankful I am :)

    Love your blog...you're a doll!

    xoxo

  17. Yeah, the doxie story made me well up a bit. I wish people wouldn't do such horrible things to animals, but I guess that's just the world we live in.

On a happier note, I hear ya on being stressed out when going to TJ's. The neatnick/organizer/type A control freak in me can't take all of the disorganized mess...or the screaming children. But, alas, it gets me every time.

  18. Ross, Marshall's AND TJ's can all be a bit rough for me depending on which ones I go to. People walk out of there with great things but I usually don't! Love the blue pants.
