The Post with Almost No Photos and No Real Topic

Don't you find this title just captivating? Aren't you yearning to read more?

No?

Eh, it's Monday. I'm surprised I even have the energy to write blog posts on Mondays before noon.

1. It was hotter than Satan's sauna this weekend. We ended up letting this little guy, err large guy, into the house yesterday afternoon to catch his breath and cool off. When I told him to "give his best pitiful look" for a blog photo, he obliged.

2. I bought some new Scentsy bricks from Megan and our home smells just lovely right now. My new favorite scent is Lucky in Love, which is a dead ringer for Victoria's Secret's famous fragrance, Lovespell.

3. They issued a burn ban for our county last night, so it looks like this will be a firework-free Independence Day. But that's totes okay...our friends Melissa and Ben, (seen below), will be coming up on Wednesday to celebrate with us! They are some of our favorite people ever, so we'll have lots of fun...with or without the fireworks.

I had a few of y'all ask when I put this photo up in May...the dress in this photo was from Forever 21 last summer, 2011. So yes, this fashion blogger DOES re-wear her clothes on the regg.

4. We JUST booked our one year anniversary trip! We're headed to the Windy City to celebrate a year of being married! We're staying at a super-luxe hotel, so I'm really excited. This city has such significance to us. We took a trip there just two weeks before Stephen proposed. One night, we went to dinner and it was snowing really hard. I remember we just stood there on Michigan Avenue, kissing in the snow. We thought it would be the perfect place to mark our one year as husband and wife.

5. If we weren't saving up for said Chicago trip (because mama's going shopping at H&M), I'd order this dress. Tres chic!

Be blessed, lovelies-

  2. Your first trip to Chicago sounds absolutely magical - kissing in the snow? Yes, please!!! Hoping you two can re-create that magic on your second trip (and have some real shopping fun on the Magnificent Mile!)

  4. I love Chicago! I'm getting married in 2 weeks and already told Kade that's where we're going to celebrate our 1 year anniversary. We took a great summer vacation there in 2010 and loved every minute. HAPPY ANNIVERSARY!

  9. Enjoy your 4th fireworks or not. I probably won't see any this year myself as we are going to a house BBQ but that's A OK. Chicago sounds cool. I've never been but would like to one day.

  10. Loving that dress....so pretty! We are still trying to figure out what we are going to do for our 1 year anniversary (Sept 17th also). We were going to go to South Africa, but due to late planning (whoops) they were all booked up.

  14. LOVE your anniversary plans! We are actually planning on celebrating our 1 year in a very unconventional way. We are going to go see Pearl Jam in concert. We are huge fans and technically the first anniversary's traditional gift is paper. Tickets are made of paper. We also got married on the band's anniversary of their first official gig. So PJ is going to be 22 years old and we will be 1 year of marriage in :)
