Confessional Friday: {Link-Up}

I've got a lot to confess today, so let's get to it, shall we?

1. I still haven’t ordered Christmas cards or begun my holiday shopping yet. But I DID find the perfect cardigan on McAuley’s website for parties and get-togethers this month…

Priorities, people.

2. More about the fabulous store above in a post next week! MY WORD at the gorgeous items, y’all.

3. I was blown away by the emails I got from everyone on Wednesday night about the excitement surrounding New Year, New You series. You girls made this blonde blush : )

4. I made chicken and dumplings on Monday night because my dear, sweet husband has been craving them forever and I was feeling extra domestic. Two words: FOOD. FAIL.

The dumplings were chewy like rubber, the broth was thin and the flavor was wonky. I usually fancy myself a pretty decent cook, but wow…it was bad.

5. Despite what you may think of the guy as a football player, I must admit – I love Tim Tebow. I admire his steadfastness with his faith and also the courtesy with which he treats people. Even those that rip him in the media. I saw him in an interview this week and thought, “Wow. He really is a good guy. A real NFL hero.”

Professional sports stars that lead a clean and decent lifestyle are few and far between anymore, so Mr. Tebow – just keep doing you.

6. I'm already getting pumped for the BCS National Championship game! I'm over the moon that two SEC teams are going this year. Which one will I root for?

7. 'Bama. Duh.

8. Why, you ask?

a) I've always had a thing for 'Bama. They're my 2nd favorite team, next to our Hogs.

b) So I can wear this dress that i bought back in August (sorry, I can't find the link!):

9.  I am SO BUMMED that I'll be missing the finales of DCC: Making the Team and Sweet Home Alabama - Tribble Edition tonight! We're going to Oklahoma City to visit Stephen's dad for the weekend, which is awesome, however, I'll be awaiting my DVR with bated breath : )

10. Speaking of DCC...do y'all think it would be okay for me to purchase a Dallas Cowboys Cheerleading costume, just to wear around the house? Totally being serious here. I've always wanted to be an honorary DCC, but I'm afraid at 27 years old and way past my cheerleading prime, it ain't gonna happen. (Yes, you're allowed to laugh hysterically about how dorky I am.) I'm sure Stephen wouldn't protest ; )

Be blessed, lovelies-

  10. Hubs loves Chicken and Dumplings too (I'm not a fan really) and I finally made them for him the other night. Found this recipe on a blog and it was very easy. Enjoy!

    Slow Cooker Chicken & Dumplings
    4 halved chicken breasts
2 cans of cream of chicken soup
1 1/2 cartons of chicken stock (I used the HT brand)
    1 minced onion
    2 tbsp butter
2 (10 oz) packages of refrigerated biscuit dough, torn into small pieces

    1. Place the chicken, soup, butter and onion in the slow cooker. Then fill with enough chicken stock to cover.
    2. Cover and cook for 6 hours on high. About 2 hours before you are ready to serve, put the torn pieces of biscuit dough in the slow cooker. Once the biscuit dough goes in, I would stir it every 30 to 45 minutes to make sure they are covered in liquid

  11. Girl, get you some canned biscuits and pinch off little balls of them and cook them in the soup. They will blow you AWAY!

  12. Two words: Mary B's

Not only does she make fabulous frozen biscuits, she does dumplings as well. They aren't thick gooey kind either (which should totally be a crime).

  20. Ok, usually I just blog stalk you and dream of the day when I will be fashionable again..However, I wanted to comment and tell you thank you for supporting another SEC team and wearing an absolutely adorable dress while doing so! So many, ahem, other teams often choose to root against us (or other SEC teams for that matter), but that is why the HOGS are my #2 fave-their fans have class as well! Also, I LOVE me some Sweet Home Alabama. It is actually filmed in my home town! Tribble is precious and I was SO happy with his choice:) ROLL TIDE:)
